The Torchies were honored to participate in a Tunnels to Towers Foundation mortgage-free home giveaway for Sgt. Vasquez Jr. (USMC) in Burgaw, NC. A day of service, brotherhood, and honoring those who served.
This past October, The Torchies Motorcycle Club had the privilege of participating in something truly special — a Tunnels to Towers Foundation mortgage-free home giveaway ceremony for Sgt. Vasquez Jr., a United States Marine who served our country with honor and distinction.
The event took place in Burgaw, North Carolina, and it was a day none of us will soon forget.
When we rolled up to the ceremony, flags flying and engines roaring, you could feel the energy in the air. The Vasquez family was about to receive the keys to a mortgage-free home — a gift that represents so much more than four walls and a roof. It represents gratitude, respect, and a nation that remembers.
For many of our members, especially those who have served, this event hit close to home. There's a bond between veterans that transcends words, and being able to be there for one of our own was an honor.
During the ceremony, we presented Sgt. Vasquez Jr. with a custom USMC Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) wall art piece. For any Marine, the EGA isn't just a symbol — it's a reminder of the oath they took, the brothers and sisters they served alongside, and the sacrifices they made.
Semper Fi, Sergeant. Once a Marine, always a Marine.
Events like this are why The Torchies exist. Yes, we love the ride. Yes, we value the brotherhood. But at our core, we believe in giving back to the communities that give us so much.
Over the past two years, our club has raised over $27,000 for Gold Star families and First Responders. From charity rides to events like this one, we're committed to making a difference — one mile at a time.
